Dr. Myrna Pearce

Dr. Candace Woodman

Dr. Candace Woodman studied Biology and Animal Physiology at Capilano College and Simon Fraser University for four years prior to dental school. She completed her DMD degree at the University of British Columbia in 2007 and received multiple awards and scholarships based on academic and character achievements. Dr. Woodman has been practicing family and general dentistry with Dr. Myrna Pearce and Associates since her graduating year.

Dr. Woodman is married, interestingly enough, to the younger brother of Dr. Ryan Lauwers. Born in North Vancouver, she spent most of her formative years in Port Moody, where she currently resides. When Dr. Woodman is not practicing, she spends most of her time with her family and friends. Her husband and her like to keep active with various activities, including running and tennis. On our beautiful B.C. days, you will find them hiking, camping and exploring the great outdoors. Dr. Woodman is also dedicated to volunteer work within her church (Coquitlam Alliance) and dental community.

Dr. Woodman is a member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Association of Dental Surgeons on B.C. She has a keen interest in oral surgery, restorative and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Woodman strives to educate, inform and provide comfortable care for her patients.

Dr. Ryan Lauwers

Dr. Ryan Lauwers did his undergraduate degree in Animal Biology at the University of British Columbia followed by his dental degree at the same institution. Ryan graduated from UBC in 2004 and has been working as an associate with Dr. Pearce since November of that year. He has since been involved in an esthetics and occlusion study club and has taken advanced training in oral conscious sedation with the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Dr. Lauwers maintains a membership in the Canadian Dental Association and the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA). In addition, he has worked with the National Dental Examining Board and has participated in a working group with the BCDA.

Ryan volunteers once a month in the downtown eastside of Vancouver providing much needed dental care for the underprivileged local residents at no charge. His wife, brother, and sister-in-law (Dr. Candace Woodman) are also all dentists. In his spare time, he is involved with coaching club volleyball, volunteering at his church (Coquitlam Alliance), and spending time with family and friends. In practice, he strives to help all patients achieve optimal dental health through informed treatment with a healthy dose of humor.
